About the Association

The Association of Legal Entities “QazSpirits Association of Producers and Importers of Alcohol and Nicotine-Containing Products” is a non-profit voluntary association of market participants interested in developing a constructive dialogue between industry stakeholders, the government and society as a whole.

The Association was founded in 2018. Today, it brings together 16 producers and importers of alcohol and nicotine-containing products.

QazSpirits supports the development of the alcohol and nicotine-containing products industries in Kazakhstan by creating a communication channel between business, the government and society, representing business interests in the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, summarising and sharing global best practices, scientific and social achievements, and involving business representatives in the development of laws, regulations and public policies that affect them.

The Association provides a platform for open professional interaction where regulation, industry development, best international practices and responsible consumption are discussed. This approach makes it possible not only to represent the interests of market participants, but also to shape a meaningful expert agenda for the government and society.

Improving the regulatory system

Improving the regulatory system for the strong alcohol and nicotine-containing products market, with the aim of minimising the social and physiological harm caused by consumption while maximising benefits for consumers and society.

The Association develops an expert position on regulation, sustainable industry development and improvement of market rules, taking into account the interests of the government, business and society.

Development of industry standards

Participation in the development of market standards and the regulatory framework, as well as support for creating favourable financial and economic conditions for market participants.

The Association’s work includes participation in the preparation of approaches and recommendations that help shape a predictable and clear regulatory environment for the market.

Interaction with the government and expert community

Participation in interstate regulatory processes affecting the industries represented by the Association’s members.

The Association interacts with regulators, experts, partners and specialised organisations, taking part in discussions on decisions that affect market participants.

Development of initiatives and proposals

Submitting legislative and regulatory initiatives to the relevant government authorities.

The Association prepares proposals and initiatives on issues that affect industry regulation and the formation of a long-term market agenda.

Preparation and publication of materials

Providing objective and high-quality information to decision-makers, market activists, consumers and stakeholders.

Publications and explanatory materials help deliver meaningful and high-quality information to the target audience about the market, regulation and harm reduction approaches.

Communication with the media and audience

Shaping a relevant and focused agenda in the media and social networks among all market participants, as well as covering key industry issues in the media.
